CBD 101

Not sure what CBD is? We get it, we weren't sure in the beginning either.

Here is a quick guide to help get you started.

  • What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabinoid, a compound produced by the cannabis plant.

Our products are derived from Hemp, which is a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant.

  • How does CBD work?

CBD’s effects are a result of its interaction with the endocannabinoid system. CBD impacts the endocannabinoid system indirectly, most often through activation of outside receptors and interaction with enzymes.

  • How long will it take to receive benefits from taking CBD ?

In some cases, such as when using a vaporizer or tincture, users often report almost immediate results. However, most of the effects of CBD are subtle and take some time to be detectable — usually half an hour or more. Personal results will vary.

  • What is CBD used for?

Many people use CBD to support the body’s natural systems. Cannabinoids are an integral part of the human body’s ability to regulate and balance a wide variety of physiological systems. CBD is also used by some for specific purposes such as supporting a good night’s rest or maintaining well-functioning joints.

  • How much CBD should I take?

The ideal serving size of CBD for each person depends on a wide range of variables. It also depends on the product. Servings of 5 to 50 milligrams per day are commonly reported for health maintenance and minor issues.

  • How often should I take CBD?

CBD can be taken multiple times each day, or at particular times of day, depending on the reason it is being used.

  • What does broad spectrum mean?

The term broad spectrum refers to CBD oil products that contain a combination of cannabinoids, terpenes and other beneficial compounds found in hemp. While many CBD oil products are made using CBD isolate, Jayne broad spectrum oils maintain concentrations of the beneficial compounds that are found in the original hemp plant. Our broad spectrum CBD oil products contain 0.0% THC. We refer to our broad spectrum products as 'Calm + Balance' and 'Calm + Focus'.

  • What does full spectrum mean?

Full spectrum CBD oil is very similar to broad spectrum CBD — the exception is that full spectrum oil usually retains the trace amounts of THC present in the hemp plant. Legally, this amount of THC must always be less than 0.3%. We refer to our full spectrum products as 'Restore + Balance'.

  • Will CBD get me high?

In short, no. CBD does not provide an intoxicating or psychotropic effect like THC and is very unlikely to cause a high.

  • Will products containing 0.3% THC get me high?

No, it's extremely unlikely, as this isn’t enough THC to create any psychoactive symptoms.

  • Where is your hemp grown?

The special strain of hemp used to produce Jayne products is grown in the USA.

  • What extraction method do you use?

All Jayne products contain either broad or full spectrum CBD oil produced by a gentle extraction method. This retains the beneficial compounds produced by the cannabis plant. We do not use any harsh solvents in our extraction process. The USDA certified organic milled hemp that we use goes through a proprietary USDA certified hemp extraction process.

  • What kind of testing is performed on your products?

All Jayne products go through rigorous testing by third-party labs to assure purity and accurate concentrations of cannabinoids.

  • Why are lab test so important?

Lab tests are important because they are used to ensure that there are no traces of pesticides, heavy metals, and yeast and mold. The purity of our product is of the upmost importance to us.
